Installation Step of Gantry Crane
Belong to heavy-duty lifting machine, gantry crane is widely used for outwork construction site. Gantry crane operators must finish the installation according to correct procedure, so that it will decrease crane accidents.
Installation steps of gantry crane are as following:
1. Label main girder, outriggers, roller box and etc, after the examine, assemble main longitudinal beams on the ground. At first, a crane lift main longitudinal beams to the right position in order. Install walking platform and go into the next step.
2. Mount roller box on track of the crane moving system, fix it after pulling diagonal line to keep alignment, then assemble outriggers one side of the gantry crane with roller box, fix them with pins. Adjust and tension with steel wire rope and chain block and fix on the anchor. Assemble the above parts on the other side with the same method. Keep outriggers of the gantry crane at both sides vertical to the ground to promise installation dimension of main girder.
3. With two truck-mounted cranes lifting both ends of main girder at one side, slowly lift and put it on the above of the outrigger, adjust it to keep in level. Fix connection plates under main girder and on the joist of outrigger, tension and install main girder on the other side of the gantry crane. It should be noted that truck-mounted crane cann’t be hooked off if the main girder is not fixed firmly.
4. One truck-mounted crane lift connection frames of the gantry crane and fix them with bolts.
5. One truck-mounted crane lift the trolleys on the track of the gantry crane, adjust and make wheel thread of the trolleys connect with the surface of track.
6. One truck-mounted crane lift the driver’s cab. Ladder, walkway, guardrail and etc and fix them on right position of the gantry crane.
7. Install electrical devices, arrange electric appliance, dismount mooring rope and anchor. After everything is OK, it is time to test run. During test run, please keep records according to the requirements from quality testing department.
